Colosseo Beanie - Knit Pattern Only
DESCRIPTION
This pattern was inspired by the structure of the Colloseum in Rome, Italy. The Colosseo is an impressive structure built by hand and, for me, was even more impressive from the inside. From the inside, you can see the complex design and imagine how the layers were constructed by seeing the remaining ruins. The distinct layers that the arcades create inspired me to create the structure of this beanie.
This pattern has one size available but has instructions on how to easily modify the pattern to make whatever size you like.
SKILLS
This includes a beginner level knitting pattern. The cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up. The techniques involved are knit, purl, k2tog, p2tog, and joining a double brim. There are written instructions for joining the double brim and a link to my instructional video. All Frosia Knits patterns are written in standard US terms.
YARN
You will need 1 skein of Lion Brand Hue + Me Bulky yarn (80% Acrylic, 20% Wool). Each skein is 137 yds (125m). You will need about 136 yds (125 m) to complete one beanie. You can easily substitute any bulky yarn, just make sure to check your gauge.
FINISHED SIZE (laid flat)
Height = 11”
Circumference = 16”
GAUGE
13 sts + 18 rows = 4” knit in stockinette
