This month for our November 2022 Scarf of the Month Crochet Along, I am sharing the pattern for my Cold Weather Scarf.

The crochet stitch pattern is worked across an easy-to-remember two row repeat using front post double crochet (FPdc) and back post double crochet (BPdc).

For this project I used King Cole Nordic Chunky (given to me by King Cole). This cozy yarn is perfect for cold weather! I used a 7 mm (L) crochet hook for this project.

The gauge is measured using FPdc and BPdc worked in the pattern repeat).

This stitch is very similar to the Rice Stitch (I only changed the number of chains to start - multiple of 2 (typically the Rice stitch requires an odd number) and the first stitch of the row will be a double crochet instead of a half double crochet). I found it gave the edges of the scarf more stretch and eliminated the need for a side edge to be added (so it works up faster).
