This is a free pattern on my crochet blog. It is based on the traditional Granny Square. The pattern outlines how to make the Granny Squares as well as the colour order of 25 Granny Squares. The pattern briefly describes the join-as-you-go joining method - but tutorials are widely available for this technique. Alternatively the maker can sew the squares together. The pattern outlines a simple border. Gauge is not crucial to this project, but can affect yarn quantities. Gauge: 5 round Granny Square as per pattern = 10cm x 10cm. The pattern requires double knit yarn - the sample used Stylecraft Special DK. The finished throw is approximately 114cm x 114cm.
