Close to Heart
A simple shape in a simple knit, the heart nevertheless remains a rich symbol of love. This pattern was designed to celebrate 10 wonderful years of Squam Art Workshops. It is also a paid pattern, with all profits going to Médecins Sans Frontières.
The pattern includes directions for both the shawl and for the mitts.
I chat more about the shawl and mitts design in Episode 5 of the EastLondonKnit Podcast. At the end of the podcast, I have video tutorials for 2 of the techniques used in this pattern: the kyok increase and picking up stitches from a cast off edge.
