The Clonmellon Market bag is a simple starter pattern suitable to learn to crochet with, but can also be enjoyed by those with more experience. You will learn to do a chain stitch, a UK ‘double crochet’/ US ‘single crochet’, followed by a UK ‘trebble crochet’/US ‘double crochet. Using these simple stitches you can make the blocks and dots of the pattern, and have a wonderful colourful bag which should make you feel like you are wandering around Clonmellon Market any day of the week.

And a kit containing all materials - printed pattern, yarn, 5mm hook, darning needle, yarn snips and stitch markers can be purchased here - but you can of course use your own materials, any worsted weight cotton will work.
