The Cleopatra Wrap evoked the mystery and beauty of Ancient Egypt, where women like Cleopatra wore gossamer thin pleated robes. The lace detail on each end of the wrap recalls the fluted lotus-topped columns that adorned Egypt’s great temples in the desert.

Gauge: 36 stitches and 40 rows in 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Finished Measurements: 16 inches (40.5cm) wide and 80 inches (203cm) long.
Yarn Requirements: 800 yards of laceweight yarn. Shown in Pure Knits Bamboo Laceweight in ‘Mulberry’
Needle Size: 3.25 mm (US 3) straight or circular needles for flat knitting or size needed to obtain gauge. If using circulars, you will need an extra circular in the same size to hold sts while grafting.

Stitches Used: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, yo, sl1 k2tog psso.
Other Details: The wrap is worked in two pieces and grafted together at the center to make the lace edges match.

Errata:

  1. In chart key, “k2tog, psso” should read “sl1, k2tog, psso”

  2. Repeat is 28 sts within red box, not the whole chart.
