Clearview
Clearview is a design built directly into CustomFit, which means that each Clearview pattern is written specifically to your choice of gauge and size.
Sometimes, you want to knit something more interesting than plain Stockinette, without ending up with a garment that looks fussy or overdone. Clearview fits the bill - it has a classic, A-line shape, a simple texture pattern, and a lovely lustrous wool.
It features a scoop neckline, and is shown with 3/4 sleeves and a long sweater length. Since it’s built directly into CustomFit, your Clearview pattern will be created specifically to your choice of gauge and size, with sleeve and sweater length of your choice. Swatch in the Windowpane texture, and CustomFit will do the rest!
When I first laid my excited little hands on Solitude Wool’s Coopworth sport, I was struck by both its lightness and luminescence. It’s a lovely, bouncy wool, with a soft halo and snug little stitches. Knit up into large sections of fabric, it’s incredibly lofty. (If you don’t know Solitude Wool, please go and read. They’re doing important things, doing them well, and their wool is lovely.) A simple Windowpane texture turned out to be just the thing – it almost looked too subtle in my swatch, but once it covered all of the fabric, I loved the effect.
I liked Coopworth sport at a gauge of 6 stitches and 9 rows to the inch; at that gauge, you’ll need approximately 4 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7) hanks for a standard size 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64)’’ bust.
One more note on yardage – while I’ve given approximate quantities for standard size sweaters, CustomFit will make Clearview in the size and gauge of your choice. And it’s pretty tough to give yardage requirements for any possible combination! If you’re not using the recommended yarn, and/or you’re not a standard size, I recommend Hannah Fettig’s amazing app, stashbot, to get a sense of your yardage requirements.
