Yarn: Lace weight merino and a strand of mohair held together, depending on the length of cardigan, allow approximately of each:

• metres: 1140 (1260, 1350, 1470) ((1560, 1680, 1790)) 1910
• yards: 1250 (1380, 1480, 1610) ((1710, 1840, 1960)) 2090

Gauge: 18 sts & 26 rows = 10cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch, blocked.

Suggested needles: 4mm (US 6) circulars 60cm/24”.

Notions: stitch markers, row counter, scissors, tape measure, stitch holders, contrasting scrap yarn, tapestry needle.

Techniques used: Long-tail cast-on, cable cast-on, twisted stitches, knitting in the round, lifted increases.

Construction notes: The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top-down, starting with the neckband at the centre of the back. When half of the neckband length is achieved, live stitches are put on hold and stitches for the other half are picked up at the cast-on edge to work the other direction. Stitches are picked up along the side of the neckband and joined with live stitches already on the needles and on hold. Raglan increases are worked to the underarm. Body and sleeves are separated and the body is worked flat down to the hem. Sleeves are worked in the round from underarm to the cuffs with decreases. Lastly, both pockets are knitted on.
