Clara the Clown Doll
** DIGITAL PATTERN ONLY, no physical item will be shipped **
Clara is a cute little doll but don’t let her fool you, she is mischievous too! Pretty yet misunderstood, she will show you that some clowns can be loved too.
Clara is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Clara is approx. 14cm tall when seated (5 1/2 inches).
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
Please contact me immediately if you have purchased this pattern thinking it is an actual toy as I do not process refunds after the PDF file has been downloaded.
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in NUDE, PINK, PURPLE, WHITE, GREY and ORANGE
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- A pair of 7mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker
Notes:
- A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
- For this pattern, the following yarns were used: o NUDE = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 38 o PINK = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 93 o PURPLE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 40 o WHITE = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 01 o GREY = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 15 o ORANGE = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 14
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- Your tension, the yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item.
- I have used safety eyes for this pattern but you may embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
