City of Jasmine Cowl
Some of my fondest memories as a child were sitting in the garden, a plate of fresh jasmine blossoms in my hand, as I plucked exactly five delicate blooms for my grandma, placing them beside her bed every morning.
I didnt know then how strongly the scent of jasmine would mark my memory. Or how badly I would yearn for the sounds and scents of Damascus, Syria.
When planning out this cowl design, I wanted to pay homage to my Syrian heritage, and of the treasured summers spent there. The arabesque-inpsired motif harkens back to the various textiles and patterns found around my family home, and throughout the city.
I truly hope you enjoy working up this cowl as much as I did designing it. So much love and warmth went into the design, and I hope that it brings the same love and warmth to you these colder months.
