From a distance, the pattern on these mittens will look like the classic houndstooth pattern. Up close, you can see the little cats.

I’ve named the mittens after my own cat Cissy. She declined to pose for photos however, so her son Draco had to stand in for the pattern photo.

The mittens are knitted in stranded colourwork from the cuff upward. The design includes a thumb gusset for a perfect fit.

Yarn required is two contrasting colours of fingering weight, approximately 30 grams of each colour. For strong, sturdy mittens, I recommend using quality 4-ply sock yarn.

On 2.5 mm needles with the gauge 34 stitches/40 rows per 10 cm, these work up to medium sized ladies mittens. The size can be adjusted by using differently sized needles; 2.25mm for smaller mittens, 2.75 for larger ones.

Vantarna stickas i två färger från mudden och uppåt, och har en tumkil för perfekt passform. De stickas med fördel i valfritt sockgarn (350-425 m/100 g) för hållbara, slitstarka vantar. Det behövs ca 30 g av varje färg.

34 maskor/40 varv per 10 cm på stickor 2,5 mm ger ett par vantar i medium damstorlek (ca stl 7). Önskas större vantar, gå upp till st 2,75. För mindre vantar, gå ner till st 2,25.
