To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to standout in the cold. -Aristotle
I grew up on Churchill Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and it was widely known in the city that at Christmas time you could drive around to various neighborhoods to see the immense decorations on Lollipop Lane, Santa Clause Curve, Reindeer Lane and the churches on Churchill. My father organized a large group of neighborhood men to build replicas of a church he grew up near in Long Lake, South Dakota. Fifty years later, on beautiful snowy nights in Sioux Falls people still dim their lights, crack their windows, and drive very slowly up Churchill Avenue to see the spectacle while a few of our neighbors play Christmas carols over speakers in their yards.
PATTERN NOTES:
This is a checklist pattern; each row is written out for ease of execution. The hat is worked in corrugated stockinette stitch? Should I call this stranded colorwork? which is similar to but NOT ribbing and has a bit of give but is tighter than traditional stockinette stitch due to the stranding of the yarn across the back of the work.
