This is a quick (2 hrs or less) and easy (knit & purl) hat for a beginning knitter with some experience. I chose to attempt a new cast-on (for me anyway) called the German Twisted Knit Cast-On, and I LOVE it!!! It is, however, optional; use whatever cast on you prefer. An excellent tutorial for the German Twisted Knit Cast-On is recommended in the pattern if you are up for the challenge. Seriously it’s not too much more than a basic long-tail cast on.

This wee little hat is very stretchy because it is all ribbed. Choose a boy-style with a pom-pom or a girl-style with an I-Cord flower, or do neither! I knit for a local hospital’s newborn nursery, so I am making up many for boys and girls!
