Chrysanthemum Vest
I love using hand dyed yarn for colorwork – the subtle variations in shade lend an unmatched beauty that can’t be replicated with machine dyed colorways. But I didn’t want to make snowflakes or stripes with this deep turquoise and rich brown – instead, I opted for a geometric flower pattern that’s totally unexpected.
This pattern is sized to fit a bust measurement of : 28 (34, 40, 45.5, 51) inches or 70 (75, 100, 113.75, 127.5) cm, with approximately 1 inch 2.5 cm of ease.
The colorwork pattern for this pattern is charted.
To complete the vest you will need 2 (2, 3, 3, 4) skeins of main color and 2 (2, 3, 3, 3) skeins of contrasting color.
The original vest was made of TIG Saorise (blue) and O’Donnell (brown).
This vest is worked from the bottom up in the round.
This vest involves the following skills:
Knitting in the round
Stranded Colorwork both in the round and back and forth
Chart Reading
Short Row Shaping
Picking up stitches
This pattern is not steeked but rather worked back and forth from the split for the collar.
