June 2020: Now with more adventure! This pattern has been updated to include a toe-up version! There are now 180 possible sock combinations within this pattern. In addition, I’ve also updated both versions to include instructions for adjusting the width of the calf! Tall socks for all!

From the two different constructions, five different sizes, to the three different cuffs, and two different heels, these socks are completely customization to suit your feet AND your yarn! This versatile pattern was written to accommodate self striping yarns, but would work fabulously with any sock yarn that suits your style and budget. I often make them with solid and speckled yarn, too. Basically, this is your one-stop-shop vanilla sock.

Both the toe up and cuff down pattern include instructions for a Heel Flap & Gusset AND German Short Row Heel.

This pattern also includes directions for how to make contrast heels/toes/cuffs.

DETAILS:

Skill Level: Easy - Intermediate (this is an easy sock, but would require some knitting proficiency.)

Skills required: Knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, basic short rows, picking up stitches.

Requires: one 100g skein of your favourite sock yarn!
Optional: one 20g mini skein of a contrasting colour!

Sample uses: Cinnabar Pink Self Striping Sock Yarn in “Fall into Autumn”
