The Choose Colour! Cowl has been designed especially with 10g 4ply mini-skeins in mind. The pattern will work equally well with larger or smaller mini-skeins or with leftover yarn. It is also perfect for advent calendar mini-skeins.

I often find myself thinking about mini-skeins and ways to use up these little morsels of yarn: taking a moment to knit on project a wee bit at a time, and taking delight in the way the colours play together, because I think that’s part of the whimsical joy of mini-skeins. You get to play with little bits of colour and perhaps put together shades that you wouldn’t usually combine, because hey, it’s just a few metres and it’s just for fun!

So, let’s choose some colourful mini-skeins together and get knitting a whimsical Choose Colour! Cowl.

Choose Colour! is a cosy striped cowl worked side-to-side in the round to create a double-layered accessory. One side of the cowl features a textured panel which helps to blend the colours of the mini-skeins and the single-round striping of the yarns creates a wonderful fade effect.

Sizes
Wide Single-Loop (Narrow Double-Loop)
Approximately 15 cm / 6” (11 cm / 4.5”) high
Approximately 60 cm / 23.5” (120 cm / 47.25”) circ.
There is also an option to make a wide double-loop cowl too.

Yardage
4ply/fingering weight yarn of approx. 400m / 437 yds per 100g
You will need between 60g / 240m and 120g / 480m, depending on which size of cowl you choose to make.

Needles
Choose whichever type of needle you prefer for knitting small circumferences in the round.
