Chook Chook Mug Cosy
’Chook’ is an Australian word for chicken, with chicken owners calling out “here chook, chook” to bring the flock to them. Chickens hold a special place in my heart after owning a rather large backyard flock.
Mug cosies are such a practical but pretty way to keep your tea or coffee warm. This is an excellent project to practice your colour work on as it’s a quick, satisfying knit. They also make wonderful gifts.! The wool keeps your tea (or coffee) beautifully warm, and also shows off the colourwork to its best. This cosy fits a standard-sized mug.
What you’ll need:
Yarn A (background): 1 ball Adagio Mills Alpaca DK in Clouds
Yarn B (chicken): 20g Woolganic Merino DK in Grapefruit Moon
Yarn C (comb): 10g Woolganic Merino DK in Chilli Pepper
Yarn D (beak): Oddment mustard yarn, the sample shows Novomerino Beehive
Needles:
3.75mm pair straight needles
3.75mm pair double pointed needles, for i-cord
Please note: You’ll receive the pattern to make the mug cosy shown in the first photograph. Marshmallow Bunny mug cosy pattern not included, shown for styling purposes only and available to purchase separately here.
