The Chocolate Lily, Dichopogon strictus, is found across Australia, the mauve-purple flowers appearing during Spring and Summer. The common name ‘Chocolate lily’ alludes to the scent of the flowers which resembles chocolate; while the flowers are edible it is the tubers that are eaten, raw or roasted, for some delicious bush tucker. Segments reflecting the petals are featured with eyelets creating texture, plus optional embroidery stitching to add that extra flourish.
