This comfortable sweater exudes effortlessness, thanks to the wonderful drape and hand of the Suri alpaca and wool blend. This piece has an unusual construction: the body is knit in one piece up to the underarm, then split into an apex-V front and solid back; separately knit shoulder panels feature alternating braided cables; and the sleeves are picked up and knit in the round to an elegant bracelet length.

Designed to have about 2––4” (5––10 cm) of positive ease; I recommend 2” (5 cm) ease for smaller sizes and closer to 4” (10 cm) ease for larger sizes, to maintain the oversized shape while allowing for a fuller bust.
Garment shown measures 40¾“ (103.5 cm), modeled with 6” (17 cm) of ease.

NEEDLES
Size U.S. 3 (3.25 mm): 40” (100 cm) circular (cir) for body and sleeves, 24” (60 cm) cir for neckline.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Stitch markers (m), 2 removable (rm); tapestry needle.

GAUGE
24 sts and 32 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette st after blocking.
27 sts and 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Alternating Braided Cable after blocking.

NOTE
-It is important to wetblock the cable panels and body to exact measurements for best results; steamblocking will not achieve as accurate results. I cabled without a cable needle to make the cable panels go quickly, which is a useful technique if you should like to attempt it.
