The Athletes of the Olympic Winter Games are marvels to behold. And you know what? You’re not so bad yourself.

Sure, you may never master a Triple Salchow or land back-to-back Double Cork 1440s, but you can knit like a champion!

This hat is very much like the one worn by Chloe Kim after her historic Gold Medal performance in snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Games.

This is one of the easiest patterns you will ever make. It uses only the knit and purl stitch. There are no increases or decreases.

So where’s the challenge? That depends on you!

GOLD MEDAL - Complete ALL THREE CHALLENGES
SILVER MEDAL - Complete TWO CHALLENGES
BRONZE MEDAL - Complete ONE CHALLENGE
PARTICIPATION - Yay! YOU MADE A HAT!

1st Challenge - Use a cast-on that you’ve never tried before. Watch videos on YouTube.com for reference, if needed. (The German Twist is a perfect cast-on for this hat.)

2nd Challenge - Change up the way you knit. If you are an English Thrower, try to knit using the Continental Method or vice-versa. Or try a different method entirely, like Portuguese Style.

3rd Challenge - Knit as much as you can with your eyes closed. Can you do a whole round? The whole hat? Try it!

Post your progress and tell us which challenges you conquered so we can cheer for you!
