The pattern is written to include directions for several different weights of yarn. You can use fingering(sock weight) and sports weight, on size 10.5 US needles or use worsted weight through bulky weight on size 11 US needles.

The shawl is knit sideways. It is designed in a way to be able to use it as a scarf and then be able to use it as a shawl once you arrive where you are going.

Directions include the separate yarn amounts to make the body one color and the ruffle two colors.

The pattern is written out. With pictures of several different weights of yarns use included in the pattern.
