Child's Question
Rediscover the world through the eyes of a child! Childlike curiosity lets us try things out and grow from our experiences. The hat Child’s Question takes you back to those carefree times. The design by Julia-Maria Hegenbart is gender-neutral, knits up quickly with our Lovely Merino Treat and will keep you cosy and warm on all your journeys of discovery thanks to its wide, folded brim. Whether you choose to knit it with a single thread for a lighter feel or double the yarn for extra warmth - perhaps as a gift for a fellow “big kid”?
Child’s Question offers an easy yet satisfying knitting experience, whether on the side or if you want to knit a hat for the first time. You work it from the bottom up in a 1x1 rib pattern and shape the crown with single and double decreases. The rib stitch makes it pleasantly stretchy, ensuring a snug, comfortable fit. You decide whether you want a thicker or a lightweight hat, knitting either version 1 with one thread or version 2 with the yarn held double.
The theme of our 2024 collection is inspiration. What inspires us to be inventive, to create something? Which small or big moment plants an idea in us and sets us in motion? With the names of the designs in this collection, we have tried to capture a few of these sparks. Child’s Question encourages us to rediscover the world with an open mind and to remain curious.
Yardage:
Rosy Green Wool - Lovely Merino Treat (100% softest organic Merino) 210 m (230 yds) per 100 g in colour Dragonfly.
Version 1 (yarn held single) 2 (2, 2) skeins, 101 (114, 128) g
or
Version 2 (yarn held double) 2 (2, 2) skeins, 124 (156, 196) g
Yarn consumption may vary depending on individual yarn tension when knitting. Size L of Version 2 is designed with a zero waste element, to use a maximum of 2 skeins. A 20 x 20 cm (8 x 8 in) gauge swatch made with doubled yarn would weigh around 37 g, so any gauge swatch made for this size needs to be unravelled and used to complete the hat.
