Child Swell Sweater
After many requests for a children’s version, I’m very happy to introduce the Child Swell Sweater. The adult version was originally inspired by a challenge I took part in to create a design based in one of the elements … earth, air, fire or water. I chose water, partly because I live by the sea & it’s my favourite place & partly because I’d recently come up with a wavy stitch combination I love. With a relaxed fit, this sweater is super cosy, perfect for chilly days at the seaside or anywhere!
Construction: It is a simple drop shoulder design, made in one piece. The main body is crocheted in turned rounds from the bottom up to the armholes & then armholes, shoulders & neckline are formed by working in rows. The collar & ribbed band are then crocheted directly onto the body. The sleeves are crocheted directly onto the armholes, followed by the ribbed cuffs.
The body & sleeve length are customisable with instructions to tell you how you can get the right length for your wearer. You can also opt for stripy sleeves if you prefer :)
Sizes: The pattern includes 7 sizes from chest circumference 19” to 31.5” - approx ages 1 to 14.
Skill level: Advanced beginner/intermediate
This is a written pattern with photos & videos to guide you through any potentially tricky parts.
The pattern has been tech edited & thoroughly tested by a large group of fabulous testers who have tested every size to ensure accuracy & clarity. It’s really important to me that you have a pattern you love. Please reach out to me if you have any issues.
