Cheyenne Canon Wrap
Inspired by the majestic beauty of Cheyenne Cañon in Colorado, this wrap captures the essence of soaring rock formations, and the the vibrant blue of the Colorado sky (I know it’s a bit of a stretch, but it sounds pretty, right?). This shawl features simple mosaic colorwork, eyelets, and rows upon rows of wrapped stitches which means this shawl knits up quick and effortlessly!
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
Length: 51” (130 cm)
Depth: 18” (46 cm)
Note: If you use Granola, the suggested yarn, it has the property of stretching a lot when wet and shrinking again as it dries, especially if you use a machine to dry the yarn (as suggested by the manufacturer). If you machine wash/dry the project, rather than wet block your project, the measurements will likely vary from the approximated measurements.
GAUGE
21 sts / 44 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Mosaic Colorwork using larger needles (US 7 (4.5 mm)) after wet blocking
Exact gauge is not critical. However, deviation from the gauge will affect the size of the shawl and yarn requirements.
SUGGESTED YARN
Granola by Louise Robert Design; 70% Merino wool, 30% hemp, 100 g (300 m / 328 yds); Sport Weight in the following colors:
- MC: Chopin; 2 skeins (approx. 170 g needed (510 m /560 yds))
- CC1: Loch; 1 skein (approx. 60 g needed (180 m / 200 yds))
- CC2: Canevas; 1 skein (approximately 60 g needed (180 m/ 200 yds))
NEEDLES
US5 (3.75 mm), US6 (4.0 mm) and US7 (4.5 mm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge at least 24” (60 cm) long.
