Cheviot Socks
I knit these socks out of my own handspun. You may remember that I complained, at the time, that I didn’t want to stop knitting them - and rubbed all of the skin off of part of my finger in the process.
I was afraid the socks would be unwearably tough, since they were a little hard on my hands, but, after washing, they are lovely and very, very warm.
I haven’t made socks with sport-weight yarn before, and it was quite a heady experience. If my finger hadn’t given out, I could have finished them that weekend! On Ravelry, a quick search turned up 397 yarns that are sport-weight and include both wool and nylon.
Without trying any, I would recommend Noro’s Silk Garden Sock for those who love color, ONline’s Supersocke 6-ply because that yarn brand is yummy, and Regia’s Solid 6-ply for those who want just one color.
The website that previously hosted this has dropped all of my old patterns. They are currently unavailable, but I may reissue them at another time.
