Construction Notes:
The sleeves begin by working a cable band. The band is worked from a provisional cast-on; once the band is complete, the ends are joined using kitchener stitch. The garter stitch cuff is picked up from the side edge of the band and worked down. The main portion of the sleeve is picked up from the opposite side edge of the band and worked in the round to the underarm, then set aside while the body is worked. The body is begun in a similar manner to the sleeves, and is also worked in the round to the underarm, with waist and bust shaping.
Once the body is completed, the pieces are joined and the yoke is worked in the round to the beginning of the front neck, with armhole and set-in sleeve shaping worked as you go. The sleeve caps are shaped by working decreases on the first and last 2 stitches of each sleeve, resulting in a vertical line of decreases along each edge of the front and back that creates the look of a set- in sleeve.
The yoke is divided when the center front neck stitches are bound off, and then worked back and forth to the shoulders, with short-row shaping to shape the tops of the sleeves and the back neck. The shoulders are joined using the 3-needle bind-off method.
You may work the cable panel from the text or chart.
