Cheermeister
Is it a green and red cowl? Or a red and green snood? No matter which, you’ll be in Cheermeister mood!
Well, I guess at this point it’s obvious that I love ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ – both the original story by Dr. Seuss and the movies made based on it.
The Cheermeister is something I thought the Grinch (or anyone else, for that matter) might enjoy wearing to the Christmas celebrations at Whoville! It can either be draped around the neck as a scrumptious cowl, or pulled over the head for extra warmth while caroling – or to hide in while doing mischief!
About the pattern:
This roomy snood is worked in the round in stripes with two different lace patterns; the pine cone sections have short rows for the chin area, giving the piece a slight curve; if desired, short rows could be worked for the candy cane sections for a stronger curve; there is also the option to cast on less stitches for a tighter-fitting version.
The original sample was made with limited edition colors by Madelinetosh called ‘Sagittarius’ and ‘Capricorn’, which made for a super Grinchy combination, but have since sold out - but there are so many other worsted weight options for reds and greens out there that would be just as sweet … or grumpy?
Then again, if red and green are not your favorite colors together, any fun stripey combination will work for this project - you could even switch colors in the middle of the double-wide stripes!
