From the pattern introduction: “I like to make socks with interesting textures and so chose the small square design from an Estonian pattern book to give a geometric pattern which would also complement the changing colors in the yarn. I chose 2/2 ribbing for the back of the leg, to aid in the fit of the sock. I chose to use a Round or French heel and French toe shaping, as they are two of my favorite techniques for classic sock construction.”
