This pattern is available for free.

Placemats are worked flat in one piece using the tapestry
crochet technique of changing colors. Each section
uses two colors. Hold both colors throughout each row,
crocheting over the strand not in use. When changing from
one color to another, work up to the final step in the old
color, working the final pull-through in the new color.
