The hat is worked in one piece from the bottom up. Starting with the brim, you will work a series of increases, a purl row, and decreases that create the brim. From there, you will work in the established stitch pattern to the top of the hat, purl one row, and then work a series of decreases at the crown to create the flat top. The brim is then folded and sewed into the inside of the hat.
