I love long cardigans and I’ve designed a fair number, but this may be my favorite. The construction is very simple, with minimal shaping. The stitch pattern is easily memorized, so why have I graded it Intermediate? The answer is Pockets. I ripped out the first pocket three (!!!) times, and I have used this pocket construction many times. I think the fineness of the yarn may have contributed to the difficulties, but I have included several Designer Notes to help others avoid making the same mistakes. If you omit the pockets, I would grade this design as Basic although the length requires patience.

A friend saw me working on this cardigan and said the stitch pattern reminded her of strips of chaser lights, hence the name.
