Chapter cushion
The sister pattern to the Chapter Shawl, the Chapter cushion uses a slipped stitch texture in two different arrangements: four triangles on the front, and two overlapping rectangles on the back. An i-cord is used to seamlessly join the front and back whilst mimicking upholstery piping. I love a neat, polished finish in my knitted garments and decided to apply that to homeware too!
Both patterns can be purchased individually for £5, or as an eBook for £6.50.
This cushion can be made to any size, using any yarn weight - the pattern includes instructions for how to calculate everything to suit your gauge.
A colouring-in page is included in the pattern with several different stripe options - the whole cushion can be done in two colours, with regular stripe widths (like in sample), with random stripes… unlimited possibilities :)
YARN: any weight yarn. Depending on the yarn weight used, yardage will vary. Any number of contrast colours could be used.
Sample used approx. 350g / 700m / 765 yards of worsted weight yarn:
185g / 370m / 405 yards MC
165g / 330m / 361 yards CC (divided between 6 CCs).
Sample shown in Lily Kate Makes AXIS worsted (90% merino, 10% suri alpaca, 100m per 50g skein) in shades Albedo (MC), World Line, Blazar, Gravity, Luminosity, Polaris & Equinox (6 x CC).
GAUGE: a dense fabric is more important than a specific gauge. Swatching info included in pattern.
