Chanet
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud…”
“Chanet” is a delicate yet daring lace shawl like the person it is named after. It’s a “thank you” to the person who showed me the light when it was the darkest. With this pattern, I’m hoping to pass on the light and be the rainbow in someone’s cloud.
The shawl is rectangular with two different edgings - one for the lower and upper edge with “nupp” scallops and one for both sides with lacy curves. “Nupp” stitch accents aline the middle part of the shawl while increase-decrease combinations form a gentle pattern complimenting the middle part. Knitting instructions are divided into steps for easier following, and you can choose between written instructions and charts.
Now all you need is yarn, needles, and time.
Remember! You can knit anything two rows at a time. ♥︎
YARN
80 g to 100 g (1200 to 1640 yds) 30/2 cobweb lace weight yarn from wool or merino (1500 m / 1640 yards per 100 grams)
You can use any laceweight fine yarn, but note that you need to check the yardage to get enough yarn. I would get more than needed, just in case, or choose the yarn I know I can get more of if needed.
NEEDLES
4 mm / US 6 / UK 8 needles for casting on and binding off
3 mm / US 2,5 / UK 11 needles for knitting
The shawl is knitted flat, but you can use circular needles if you feel it’s more comfortable.
FINISHED SIZE (after blocking)
