Cestari Two Tone Hat
I wrote this pattern for the joy of working with a minimally-processed, wool yarn from a small yarn company right here in Virginia. It always feels good to knit with locally-sourced yarn. The squishy, soft yarn used in this pattern is from Cestari Sheep and Wool Company, located just a couple counties away from me in Augusta County, Virginia.
This is a SLOUCHY beanie.
Yarn: Cestari Kettle Dyed Yarn, 100% Fine Merino Wool, Mt. Vernon 3-ply Bulky, Thistle Pod ( 1 skein, 70 yards/3.5 oz) AND Primrose Peach (1 skein, 70 yards/ 3.5 oz).
Needles: U.S. size 8 (5 mm) 16” (40cm) circular needles; U.S. size 10 (6 mm) 16” circular needles and set of 4 U.S. size 10 (6 mm) double-pointed needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Gauge: 14 sts= 4” (10 cm) in stockinette on larger needles.
Notions: yarn needle, stitch markers.
Finished Measurements: 20” (50 cm)
circumference, 9.25” (23.4 cm) height.
