Wide knitted floral lace border surrounding a circular cloth center. Design consists of four circular flower motifs (2 large ones at the ends, and 2 smaller ones at the sides) linked by leaf shapes arching around the fabric center, the entire piece finished with a scalloped edging.

Worked from four charts with details of construction--including some hand written in the charts--in Italian. Chart A is for the large 8-repeat flower motif (37 rounds), with chart B (43 rows) being the extension knitted back and forth (twice per flower) across two repeats of the flower, to form the leaf shape. Chart C (27 rounds) is the smaller flower. Chart D (11 rounds) is the outer edging. The handwritten instructions on the charts call for using a doubled thread to give a thicker texture to a few rounds surrounding the center of the flowers in charts A and C.
