Every round is a pattern round. Needles size given as 3/0, presumably old German sizing system which would be between 1.5 and 1.25 mm.

Geometric figured square knitted doily. Center figure is a compass rose style star embedded in a stockinette square. Each side of this square has a pair of simple leaf shapes which give way to corners of chevron faggotting; the doily is finished with a crocheted chain.
