Celsius
Celsius is a cool, chill stunner of a shawl that adds in some sizzling stripes on a gorgeous background of stranded color work and short row/stripey shenanigans!
Knit from tip to fringe, Celsius starts with some squishy garter stitch short rows and ends up in the round for the color work finale that makes that center POP!
Size: 85 in/215 cm along the top edge; 24 in/60 cm along the center of the shawl. Shawl size may vary, depending on individual knitter’s gauge, yarns used, and blocking preferences. (Note: Measurements do not include fringe!)
Recommended yarn: 3 colors of Worsted/Heavy DK weight yarns in solid/speckle/semi-solid/tonal colors.
Sample Used: Malabrigo Merino Worsted (100% Merino; 210 yd/192 m) in Polar Morn (A), Watergreen (B), and Emerald (C)
Yardage:
- Color A: 180 yd/165 m
- Color B: 180 yd/165 m
- Color C: 200 yd/183 m
Needles: One set of US size 9/5.5 mm circular needles in a few lengths/long enough cord to join into the round.
Gauge: 4-4.5 stitches to the inch in Garter stitch on US size 9/5.5 mm needles.
Notions: Two stitch markers, scissors, and a tapestry needle for ends.
