Cellular Shawl
Rhythmic garter stitch leads to a slip-stitch mosaic pattern reminiscent of plant cells, honeycomb, or turtle shells. The curved triangular shape makes a shawl that is fun to knit and easy to wear. Choose a contrast color that is a different value (lightness/darkness) as well as a different color for maximum impact in the slip stitch patterning, which is both written and charted.
GAUGE
4” = 19 sts and 33 rows in Garter Stitch, blocked. Precise gauge is not required for this project.
Note: yarns shown have a recommended gauge of 20-26 sts to 4” in Stocking Stitch.
