The start is a tiny bit fiddly (I explain my preferred method - the simplest I’ve found).
But very soon you are just on to soothing knitting in the round.
And this construction also has the advantage that you can decide on the size as you go.
One tester even decided to just keep going and make a blanket.

For one side of a 45cm/18”, cushion, you’ll need approx. 200m/220yds (allow more if you work with very tight gauge)
