Cate's Wrap
Cate’s Wrap is a tribute to the beautiful, knitted design, Nymphalidea, by Melinda VerMeer. It is worked in two lace weight yarns--one with gradual color changes, and the other in a sharply contrasting color. The yarns are not cut but are carried up the side. Cate’s Wrap is worked like a triangle with short rows along one side. The short rows curve the wrap and gradually form it into a crescent shape.
Cate’s Wrap is named for my friend, Cate, a very talented knitter and crafter.
Dimensions: (pre-blocking) 67 in. (170 cm) from tip to tip and 16 in. (40.6 cm) at widest point;
(post-blocking) 75 in. (190.5 cm) from tip to tip and 16 in. (40.6 cm) at widest point
Stitches used: chain, foundation single crochet, single crochet
The 8-page pattern pdf includes 11 photos. Most are progress photos and blocking photos.
When I finished crocheting, I had 25 g (38%) of my contrasting color remaining and 19 g (19%) of my main color remaining.
Cate’s Wrap can be made shorter or longer. Simply reduce the number of repeats to shorten the wrap, or increase the number of repeats to lengthen it.
Please send me a message if you have any questions about this design, or join us in our group, CrochetWorks. We love to chat about crochet and yarn:)
