Catalina Cowl
This quick and easy cowl is made up using very basic, beginner level stitches often called the “houndstooth” stitch pattern. Using thicker yarn and a bigger hook makes this project fast for market prep or gifting. It uses very little in supplies and is reversible.

Supplies Needed:
-Super bulky weight (size 6) yarn in 2 colors, 100-106 yds. of each color
-Size 10.0 mm hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
-3 1-inch wooden buttons
-Piece of cardboard, 6 inches wide (optional)
-Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
Finished Measurements:
Cowl measures approx. 36 x 9 inches in size, not including fringe. Measurements are taken with the cowl unbuttoned and laying flat, unblocked.
Gauge:
7 dc and 4 rows = 4 inches
Gauge is fairly important for this project, as you don’t want your cowl to be too big/too little.
