L’architecture est une source inépuisable d’inspiration pour les créations de tricot. Les portes et fenêtres anciennes sont, avec leurs formes inhabituelles et leur patine, particulièrement inspirantes.

Pour ce modèle, j’ai pris un motif gravé sur une belle porte en bois et l’ai associé à l’esthétique verticale des fenêtres en arc brisé.
Carved Wood (bois gravé) est un modèle de chaussettes tricotées de la bordure vers le bas, avec la bordure en jacquard à fils tirés, et utilise comme le coloris principal, une laine faux-unie à légèrement tachetée (speckled) et deux coloris contrastants unis. J’ai utilisé des couleurs évoquant l’évolution du cuivre pour la première version: vert brun à vert canard, puis bleu turquoise.

Architecture is an endless source of inspiration in knitting design. Old doors and windows, with their
unusual shapes and beautiful patina, are particularly inspiring.

For this design, I worked with the pattern carved on a beautiful wooden door and merged it with the Vertical aesthetics of a pointed arch window.
The Carved Wood socks are a cuff-down pattern with stranded knitting on the cuff, using a semi-solid to slightly speckled main color and two solid contrasting colors. I used colors reminiscent of the life cycle of copper: brown-green to teal to aqua blue.
