Carnegie Vest
As a boy, Andrew Carnegie fled poverty in Scotland for the textile mills of Pittsburgh. Through hard work and clever investments he became one of the world’s wealthiest men and one of the nation’s greatest philanthropists, launching thousands of libraries.
Today over 2,500 libraries throughout the world bear the name Carnegie so it seemed only fitting that we include a design with his name in a book inspired by the library! James Magee’s classic shape and modern colours pay tribute to a man who came from the Old World and helped shape the New.
This pattern is in the book Stitching in the Stacks, which is available in both print and digital format via Cooperative Press (the digital edition is also available here on Ravelry).
