Carnaby Girl Sweater
This women’s pullover is knit from the bottom hem up to the armholes in the round. The body is placed on hold and the sleeves are then worked from the cuffs up to the armholes in the round. The sleeves and body are then joined to work in the round, with a colorwork yoke. Simple 1x1 ribbing at the neckline and hems completes this casual sweater. Sizes given are for the actual finished garment - if you prefer a more casual look as it is styled in the photos, choose a finished size 2-5” larger than your actual bust size. If you prefer a closer fitting garment, choose a size that is as close to your actual bust size as possible.
Suggested skills: Simple chart reading, knitting in the round, increasing/decreasing.
If you wish to substitute yarn, you will need approximately 1350 (1350, 1375, 1450, 1550, 1650, 1750, 1825, 1900 yards of the MC, and approximately 75 (80, 90, 110, 130, 150, 175, 210, 225) yards each of 4 contrast colors for the colorwork.
This sweater is named after one of the fashionable Mod-Look shops in 1960s Carnaby Street in London.
