This is my next latte hat design: meet Cardamom Latte! This one has a whole lot of texture and is a whole lot of fun! The bobbles, texture and color of this hat all reminded me of cardamon spice and cardamom pods and I love trying different flavors in my lattes.

I really wanted to use a couple colors in this design because I fell in love with all the colors of Lichen and Lace’s Rustic Heather Sport. So I marled two together for the body of the hat. I also wanted to make this one a dual pattern - you can just knit the brim and graft together for a cute new earwarmer, or complete the whole project for a brand new, super warm hat if you feel so inclined!

This hat would be great for the knitter who isn’t afraid to try a few new techniques like a provisional cast-on, bobbles, and Kitchener stitch.

The brim of this hat is knit flat from side to side. The brim is then grafted together and stitches are picked up along one side and then joined in the round. The hat is then worked from the picked up brim stitches to the crown. After the hat is completed, the brim is folded up and sits over the main body of the hat.

Earwarmer needs 1 color of sport weight yarn. Approximately 65 (69, 73) yds / 60 (63, 67) m / 17 (18, 19) g

Gauge:
17 sts and 31 rnds = 4 in /10 cm in ribbed stitch pattern with larger needles , knit in the round and blocked (two strands of sport held together)

1 chart repeat (21 sts and 20 rows) = 2.5 in / 6.5 cm width, 2.25 in / 5.5 cm length with smaller needles, knit flat and blocked (yarn held single)
