I revised the pattern for added clarity in Jan. 2012. (See changes below.) NOTE: PDF versions of this pattern purchased after Jan. 30, 2012 contain the revisions.

Round 3: Ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch 2), * 3 DC into next ch 1 space created by previous row, ch 2* repeat * to * last ch 1 space (where row began). 2DC then sl st into third chain at beginning of round.

Round 5: Ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch 2). In next ch 2 space created by previous round make 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in each ch 2 space around to last ch 2 space. In last ch 2 space, ch 2, 3 dc, ch2, 2 dc, then sl st into third chain at the beginning of round.

Round 7: Ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch 2), 3 dc in next chain 2 space from previous row * ch 2, 3 dc in space. Repeat from to * around to last ch 2 space. In last ch 2 space, ch 2, 2 dc then sl st into third chain at the beginning of round.
