Candi the Unicorn is the third friend in my Fantasy Land collection – a collection suggested by my imaginative 8-year-old son. It has a frog prince, a rainbow girl and now a unicorn!

Candi is the sweetest, happiest unicorn in Fantasy Land. She is forever happy and a joy to be around

This pattern is an easy design and uses US terminology. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as it does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions for you to make the toy.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Candi is approx. 13cm tall x 17cm long.

You will need:

• 2.5mm hook/C-2
• 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 25g of APRICOT, less than 25g of PURPLE, DUSTY ROSE, PEACH and GOLD
• WHITE embroidery thread or 4ply yarn
• 8mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
