Campsider
Seamless, entirely knit in the round!!!
The small farm’s rolling hills are set back from the road a bit. It’s just enough that the little homestead can preserve the countryside’s peace and stillness. A secret hidden world behind a normal house with a small wooden farmstand. Bordering the forest, dried wildflower blooms of linen and parchment rest on hickory brown stalks. It is late in the season and only the Kale still grows. Plots have been harvested, the squash cured. It all rests in the tiny greenhouse to the left of the fields, a treasure for autumn squash soup. Downfield further, woven bittersweet baskets hold fresh eggs of all shades: tan, white, robin’s egg blue and even faded olive green. The horses munch hay in all their majesty and the sheep graze languidly. There is a connection to the earth here; one where the richness of the soil nourishes not only the life growing over it but the choices made regarding it as well. Boots that sink slightly into the mud with each step. The air is fresh and the heart is at home here. It’s a permanent sort of camp, a campside of another kind.
