The campfire crackles and pops as you watch the smoke drift lazily up to the sky. The north wind picks up, rustling the dry branches of the winter trees, and you toss another log on the fire and tug the brim of your wool hat down over your ears.

A NOTE ON SIZING
As written this hat has a shorter, close fit. For extra length or a slouchier fit, work rows 9-16 of the Chevrons pattern once, then work rows 1-16 twice (to add 1 inch (2.5 cm) length) before starting the Chevron Decreases.
Please note that working additional rounds will require more yarn.

For a folded brim (shown in blue) knit brim ribbing for 2.5 inches (6.5 cm). Please note that this will require more yarn - the blue sample used approx. 160 yds/150 m of Willow & Lark Ramble.

The sample used the whole ball of Willow & Lark Ramble with only a few yards left over. You may want to have an extra ball of yarn in case you run out!

TECHNIQUES USED: long tail cast on, simple increases and decreases, knitting in the round.

Pattern includes charts and written instructions.
