Yarn requirements

Assumes 125g skeins of DK yarn, 230m/250yds each.

• 1 year: 1.5 skeins main colour, 0.5 skeins contrast colour 1, 0.25 skeins each of contrast colours 2, 3 and 4
• 2 year: 2 skeins main colour, 0.5 skeins each of contrast colours 1 and 2, 0.25 skeins each of contrast colours 3 and 4
• 4 year: 2 skeins main colour, 0.5 skeins contrast colour 1, 0.25 skeins each of contrast colours 2, 3 and 4
• 6 year: 2.5 skeins main colour, 1 skein contrast colour 1, 0.5 skeins contrast colour 2, 0.25 skeins each of contrast colours 3 and 4

Cardigan can also be knit using only three colours.

Other materials needed

• 6 ring markers
• shank buttons (15mm) OR shirt buttons (2-hole): 5 for 1 year size, 6 for 2 year and 4 year sizes, 7 for 6 year size
• buttonhole twist thread
